"Sucky work nights suck."

Yes. Jena said that last year. At about this time. Rather freaky, no? ^_^ But true none the less. I found it very appropriate.
So I worked tonight. If you hadn't figured that out. I almost never work Friday nights but I asked to work once or none these two weekends before finals so I got stuck with Friday night? Or something. Anyway, Kristen was supposed to work but Kevin subbed for her. Which was fine. The problem is that Friday nights are the worst night to work.
It's junior high night. Not really but that's who comes skating. And they are stupid. No, really. So I think I yelled at more people tonight than I ever have before. I kicked two people off-never have done that before. And there was nobody playing music so the music was really loud and annoying and we had to yell to get everyone off for break.
Anyway, junior high kids are idiots. Did I mention that already? XD
So during the second half of skating this young (elementary-ish aged) hockey kid hit the boards hard and hit his head. Kevin & I both saw it and both went over and helped him off the ice, offered him and ice pack, etc. So while Kevin went to get the forms, I was still on the ice but at the door. And this lady comes up and is like "Excuse me, have you read the rules?" And I'm like..."No, duh?" Okay, I didn't really say that but that is what I was thinking. And then she goes on about how we aren't doing our jobs and enforcing rule #12 and #13 (loitering on the ice and going against the flow of traffic). And I was so tempted to say one of four things:
a) Well you obviously can't see very well, can you? Maybe you should get your glasses checked.
b) That's nice, you do that.
c) How would you like to put on skates and do my job for me? I'd gladly sit in the stands and eat your popcorn.
d) If you are so concerned about me doing my job, how about you go away and LET ME DO IT? We just helped a hurt kid off the ice, and I am the only guard on the ice, which makes my job a hell of a lot more important that listening to your complaints. If you really wanted to bring this up, do it at an appropriate time, like WHEN EVERYONE IS GETTING OFF THE ICE!!!

((We -had- been enforcing the rules as much as possible, but you can't see everything, it's impossible. And usually people going against traffic are either little kids who are trying to get to their parents, people who aren't good skaters and are trying to find their friends b/c if they skate around they'll never catch up, or people who are getting off the ice. In all of which cases by the time the guard gets there the person is either going the correct direction or off the ice. And loitering is only a problem if they're blocking the flow of traffic. So we tell people to move off to the side or middle. *shrug* It's been like that for...forever. As long as I've been working there, and as long as Kevin's been working there (15+ years). So..yeah. Anyways.))

However, I didn't say anything. I just turned around and started skating again, since Kevin wasn't on the ice. *le sigh* There were 130+ people there...jeeze. I've seen worse-enforced rules.

All of that on top of doing nothing today but work on my 8-10 page paper that's due in a week that I have to finish this weekend on top of studying for Chinese and French and Programming. And writing a two page French paper and doing 11 exercises of French Grammar. *deep breath* No wonder I'm in a bad mood, no?

And so the random quote/saying/word of the day is: "Idiots!" a la Napolean Dynamite.

Wow I rant about work in this jornal a lot. I really -do- like my job. Most of the time.

And I'm going to be posting up some Eowyn art...eventually. I just need time. Most likely it will happen after finals. I have a couple of things to scan plus a couple of things that I already have done, I just have to decide what they fit or if they'll end up being artist's choice.

Also considering joining a fanart100-type community only for my own characters. Because I need to do more original art. *ponders that* I've watched the group for now, I think it's MyOCS100? Or something like that.

Okay, it's movie and de-stress time now that I've ranted about my sucky work night here. *le sigh*
